The Ultimate Guide to Eyebrow Lift in Bangkok

Last fact-checked: 13 August 2020

Considering an eyebrow lift in Bangkok to take away those lines and furrows across your brow? Our quality-checked surgeons can help open up your eyes and give you an instant improvement, all for a fraction of what you’d pay at home.

A brow lift tightens the soft tissue on the forehead, lifting brows which tend to lose their youthful arch as we get older. It is also known as a forehead lift and is useful for removing forehead wrinkles and lines, as well as Crow’s feet.

Am I Suitable for an Eyebrow Lift?

There are a number of different techniques for brow lift surgery. Your surgeon will discuss these with you fully to decide on the one most appropriate to achieve the results desired.

It can be performed to improve the appearance of the eye area, and combined with other procedures, such as eye-bag removal, to improve wrinkles on the forehead. Brow lift surgery could be suitable for you if you have:

  • Sagging eyebrows which make you look sad, tired or even grumpy

  • Excess skin that hangs over your eyes, especially if it affects your vision

  • Vertical frown lines between your eyes (11s)

  • Horizontal forehead lines

Why Should I Consider a Brow Lift in Bangkok?

Bangkok is one of the world's most popular, well-traveled cities, with key tourist areas, such as the Khao San Road, bustling with excitement, while the ornate temples and parks offer serene contemplation. Eat a meal on the go from the excellent street vendors, or dine out at a roof-top restaurant overlooking the sparkling city lights. Haggle at the night market or splash-the-cash at swanky shopping malls. It is a non-stop metropolis where you will always find something to see and do.

For medical tourists, its appeal lies in the reputation of its healthcare facilities. Patients visit in the millions every year from Australia, New Zealand, Europe and the US, particularly for cosmetic surgery treatments, such as eyebrow lifts, which are substantially less expensive than at home.

Bangkok is a truly international city; with multiple luxury and discount flights arriving daily from around the world, it is also reasonably accessible for air travelers.

Why Book Your Treatment with Medical Departures?

While cost is always the initial consideration for most people looking to travel abroad for cosmetic surgery, ensuring your surgeon and facility are both reliable is, of course, of the utmost importance. This is where it pays to research your procedure and find out all you can about it. This gives you an insight then into what kind of questions you should be asking of your surgeon, for example, what are their qualifications, experience, area of expertise, etc.

This is how Medical Departures can help. We have over a decade of experience working with the best clinics and hospitals in dozens of locations around the world. We only partner with reliable clinics so you are assured of receiving quality care and impressive results. Our checks include:

We also pay personal visits to clinics and hospitals, so we can ascertain that everything looks as it should be. Going for surgery can be a daunting experience at the best of times, so at least knowing your doctors and facilities check out before you get there is going to make you feel a whole lot better, and hopefully allow you to enjoy the sights before your operation.

How Long Do Brow Lifts Take to Carry Out?

The procedure typically takes 1-2 hours to complete, depending on the technique your surgeon uses. For instance:

  • Endoscopic Brow Lift: Several small incisions are made in the scalp through which an endoscope (a long thin tube with a camera and light) is inserted, allowing the surgeon to work on the internal structures in the forehead.

  • Open Brow Lift: Excess fat and skin are removed through a long incision in the hairline, or one of the creases in the forehead and the remaining skin tightened and stitched.

  • Limited Incision: A good technique for Crow’s feet, although it doesn’t address problems in the center of the brow. It is a combination of both procedures the above procedure with scars hidden in the temporal hairline.

What Is the Recovery Period for an Eyebrow Lift?

Numbness, swelling and bruising should begin to subside in around five days and stitches are typically removed in a week. You will be advised to sleep in an elevated position for a week, but showering, bathing and hair-washing can be resumed the day after surgery, although care must be taken to use the cool setting on a hairdryer.

Light activity is encouraged the day after surgery and you should be able to return to work in a week. You should resume full everyday activities within three weeks and gentle strenuous activity after a month.

In terms of how long you'll need to stay in Bangkok following surgery, it’s always worth talking with your chosen surgeon before booking your flight.
