Why Choose Bangkok for a facelift?

Bangkok offers world-class healthcare to international patients. Contemporary, modern facilities, the latest technology and medical expertise combine to give patients the best results. Many surgeons are trained overseas and members or affiliated with international professional organizations, such as the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. But it is not just the skill of the medical staff that Bangkok excels in, it is also in its whole customer care ethos. From the moment you walk in through the hospital doors, to the moment you leave you will find attentive, courteous staff and efficient, well-run practices that make the whole process run smoothly. The Thais think of everything to make your stay as comfortable and pleasant an experience as it can possibly be.

This is why Bangkok remains one of the world’s favorite destinations for cosmetic surgery. That said, if you are considering facelift surgery in Bangkok, you should always do some research. They say cosmetic surgery is an art, and especially so when it comes to your face – and surgeons have their own styles and ways of doing things, so you need to ensure you choose someone whose work you have seen and are happy with, as well as ensuring they have the appropriate skills and expertise. Being comfortable about your choice will make for a far less stressful experience.

We make the process much easier by pre-checking all of the doctors and clinics featured on our site. When you book through us you are assured that we have already looked for any legal or criminal proceedings, verified qualifications and professional memberships and undertaken clinic visits ourselves. We list this information on our website, as well as real patient reviews – so anyone can see and decide for themselves whether a particular doctor or clinic is for them. With the number of facilities available in Bangkok offering cosmetic surgery, it is easy to forget this very important part of the process – and it is your face, so choosing a trustworthy, reliable practitioner is paramount.

How Long Will the Facelift Procedure Take?

All facelifts are all unique; thus, the procedure and can take from anywhere between one and six hours to perform, depending on the extent of the surgery required.

Modern facelift surgery techniques are quite different from how the surgery was performed even twenty years ago, with facial rejuvenation being the key to how facelifts are now carried out. Mini-lifts are now quite popular rather than a full facelift. Many patients will also opt to have a combination of techniques, such as fat grafting, as well as non-surgical treatments, such as skin resurfacing, or Botox.

A good surgeon will advise you on what procedures will meet your expectations.

What is the Recovery Time for a Facelift?

This will obviously depend on what procedures you have had done. Generally, you will be advised to recline, rather than lie down or bend forward in order to reduce the swelling, and you will experience discomfort for a few days after the surgery. Bruising and swelling takes around two weeks to disappear.

Some people are happy to be seen out and about just a few days after surgery, whereas others leave it for a week or two, but again it depends on what you have had done, and when the sutures are removed. You will be advised not to drive or do any heavy lifting in the first week and to avoid strenuous activities for a month. It will take at least six months before you are fully healed.

In general, plan any holiday activities in Bangkok or Thailand before any surgery and take your surgeon's advice as to what you can and cannot do afterwards.
