Designer Vagina

The Ultimate Guide to Designer Vagina

Last fact-checked: 27 September 2020

"Designer vagina" is a term used to refer to a combination of surgical procedures that rejuvenate the appearance and function of the female genitalia.

Typically, this involves vaginoplasty (to repair vaginal walls) and labiaplasty (labia reduction)—although a number of other procedures may be used depending on each patient's specific needs.

Every year, millions of people undergo surgery to enhance their boobs, bum, tums, noses and lips—and now, increasingly, women are seeking cosmetic treatment to adjust this most intimate part. According to the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, the number of women getting labiaplasty surgery doubled over a five-year period from 2013 to 2018.

Individual Designer Vagina Procedures

  • Vaginoplasty is usually the main procedure associated with designer vagina surgery and is used to rejuvenate vaginas that have been damaged (usually through childbirth). This normally involves tightening the vaginal wall.
  • Labiaplasty involves trimming the labia (the inner and outer vaginal lips) which some people feel are too long or ‘untidy’ looking.
  • Clitoropexy is used to reposition the clitoris or reduce the clitoral hood for great sexual pleasure.
  • Hymenoplasty, also known as revirgination, replaces the membrane that is broken the first time a woman has sexual intercourse.
  • G-spot amplification is used to increase sexual pleasure through injecting collagen into this area.

How Long Does a Vaginal Rejuvenation Procedure Take?

The length of the procedure varies depending on what procedures are undertaken.

The average time is likely to be around one or two hours, although this may be slightly longer if more complex repair work is required, especially if you are having the procedure carried out in the hospital while under general anesthetic.

What Is the Recovery Time for a Designer Vagina?

As with any surgery, you will feel sore and some discomfort after the anesthesia begins to wear off. You will probably feel more comfortable lying down, rather than sitting, for the next few days, but you should walk around as much as you can as this helps with the healing process.

To bear in mind post-surgery:

  • You may find applying ice packs or even a bag of frozen peas helpful in reducing swelling, as well as being soothing.
  • After three days, you should be able to resume most of your everyday activities.
  • Depending on the complexity of the surgery, some people can go back to work after approximately four days, although most take a week off.
  • You should take it easy, avoiding vigorous exercise, including horse-riding, motorcycles and sexual intercourse, for six weeks.
  • Always consult with your surgeon as to when you will be able to fly back home when undergoing surgery abroad.
