Bags under the eyes are often the result of the loss of strength and elasticity in the skin, which is usually caused by the aging process. Many people begin to notice the appearance of bags under the eyes about age 30. While this is a common part of the aging process, there is no reason why you should look older than you actually are or endure having people ask if you are tired or sick when eye bag removal can provide an effective solution.
While eye bag removal can successfully alleviate drooping skin under the eyes, prospective patients should bear in mind that this procedure will not eliminate dark circles or wrinkles around the eyes.
Costa Rica is widely recognized for its incredible natural beauty and commitment to conservatism. Travelers from around the world flock to this Latin American country for its spectacular beaches, including Tamarindo, located along the north Pacific Coast. Whether you're into surfing, swimming, snorkeling, or sunbathing, there is always something to enjoy on Costa Rica's beautiful beaches, as well as inland in verdant jungles and mountain villages. Nature lovers will enjoy the flora and fauna here as well as multiple UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
Travelers will also find that Costa Rica has a wonderful healthcare system staffed by English-speaking doctors. With state-of-the-art medical facilities, Costa Rica offers safe, reliable healthcare. Healthcare costs are also much lower in Costa Rica than in many other parts of the world.

Different approaches may be used to remove eye bags, which can be performed on both men and women. The method depends on your specific needs. For instance:
Your surgeon will make an incision slightly below the lash line, allowing him or her to remove excess skin, muscle, and fat. The incision is then closed using fine sutures.
Depending on your situation, your surgeon may also need to use a procedure known as transconjunctival blepharoplasty, which includes an incision inside the lower eyelid in order to remove excess skin. Eye bag removal usually takes less than an hour and is performed under general anesthesia.
Things to Note About the Procedure and Your Recovery:
On the first day of your procedure, you should make plans to rest. You should be able to be up and around by the next day but will need to limit your activities. To limit swelling and bruises, it's a good idea to apply cold compresses to your eyes. Swelling and discoloration should subside within a week following your procedure.
Keep in mind that your eyes will likely be sensitive to sunlight after your procedure, so it's a good idea to wear sunglasses or remain indoors. This is only temporary and will subside within a few days. Eye drops may be prescribed to ease any dryness, itching, or burning you feel. Stitches can be removed within five days after your procedure.
Patients typically need to take off about a week from work after eye bag removal surgery, but the nature of your work may dictate the amount of time you need to be off from work.
The average cost for eye bag surgery in Costa Rica is about $1,800 (GBP £1,656, AUD $2,489, EUR €1,656) compared to about $3,200 in the United States (GBP £2,205, AUD $4,514, EUR €2,871).
