Why Would I Consider Labiaplasty?

Labiaplasty is performed either for cosmetic or health reasons. For instance:

  • Some women feel that their labia either jut out or hang downwards and come in the way of tight clothing or even make sex painful.

  • Large labia minora can result in soreness, chaffing and the inability to wear certain clothes.

  • Some women are predisposed toward large labia minora; for others, it may be an aftereffect of childbirth, age or hormones.

A labiaplasty or reshaping of the labia is the only answer to rectify this problem. The surgery is usually performed on the labia minora (the inner lips) though sometimes the labia majora may also need alteration; some patients may want the labia majora made smaller or bigger. Smaller and neater looking labia minora not only looks good but can also enhance sexual pleasure at times.

Why Have Labiaplasty in Malaysia?

Malaysia is an attractive tourist destination and receives millions of holidaymakers from all over the globe every year. Easily accessible from Australia with a number of major airlines flying straight to Kuala Lumpur, the capital, it has a great climate throughout the year with plenty of sunshine (and a few showers). The more touristy parts of the country are known for their nightlife, sightseeing, historic and cultural attractions, cuisine and the huge variety of shopping.

The country has an excellent healthcare system, with many large hospitals and smaller facilities often specialising in certain procedures. Doctors are well qualified and amenities in the hospitals are world-class. At the same time, it is very affordable, particularly when compared to the prices for cosmetic surgery procedures in Australia. There is plenty to see and do in Malaysia and you can have a great holiday here before or after your surgery.

How Long Does Labiaplasty Take and What Is the Recovery Time?

Labiaplasty surgery or labial reduction as it is also called is a relatively simple process. In brief, it is worth noting the following points about the procedure:

  • The procedure essentially involves excess skin being cut away by the surgeon and the area is neatened.

  • Where necessary, stitches are used.

  • The surgery will take between an hour and an hour and a half and is usually done under general anesthesia.

  • There are different surgical techniques used in this procedure and you should discuss with the doctor which one will be right for you depending on your present condition and what you want.

You will be able to leave the hospital soon after the procedure and have some pain and swelling for a few days. You may also have some bleeding or spotting and will need to take care of hygiene according to medical advice. After three to four days you will be able to resume normal activity. Sexual intercourse is not advised for four weeks or till the healing is complete.

How Much Can I Save on Labiaplasty in Malaysia?

In Australia, labiaplasty can cost anywhere between AUD 5,000 to AUD 9,000 (depending on the area, the clinic and the doctor). This is not covered by medical insurance since it is a cosmetic procedure.

In Malaysia, the procedure will cost around AUD 2,800 or less, depending on where you go. Most of our clients tend to save at least 50%.

[Please note: these prices are approximate estimates based on international data, calculated at the time of writing.]
