Looking at saving on your cosmetic surgery by receiving a neck lift in Johor Bahru? This Malaysian city offers global medical travellers excellent facilities–and prices that are considerably less than you might expect to pay back home.
Often one of the first signs to give away advancing years, the skin on your neck can become wrinkly and loose, likening it, rather unkindly, to a turkey or wattle neck.
A neck lift can transform the area, getting rid of the crepey, loose skin and even eliminating double chins.
One of the main reasons you may be considering a neck lift abroad is the cost. In Johor Bahry, this procedure is around a third of the price you’d pay in your home country, so even if you factor in travel and accommodation costs you still should return with more money in your pocket than if you’d stayed at home for the procedure.
Cost, of course, isn’t everything, and it’s worth knowing that the healthcare system in Malaysia is generally very good. The Malaysian government has taken strides to ensure that facilities for medical travellers are of exceptionally high-quality. Visitors can rely on modern, new clinics and private hospitals, equipped with the latest technologies and staffed with reliable, well-qualified medics.
Johor Bahru itself is a developing city–and is becoming a major hub in the region. Linked to Singapore by the six-lane Johor-Singapore Causeway, as well as a railway line, Singaporeans are frequent visitors to the city, keen to take advantage of the lower prices and to avail of the leisure and entertainment facilities.
Like any modern city, shopping, hotels, restaurants, bars and a good nightlife are par for the course, but the city also offers myriad outdoor pursuits, with more than 15 golf clubs, horse-riding and the 25 kilometre-long Danga Bay Waterfront proving a hit with locals and visitors alike.
Johor Bahru may be in an exotic Asian location, but as a former British colony, English is spoken widely everywhere meaning you will have no problems on the communication front, especially when speaking with staff and your chosen surgeon.
We know you may be apprehensive about arranging surgical treatment abroad, especially in an unfamiliar country you may never have visited before. This is why we provide you with information which may help to allay your misgivings, giving you the opportunity to make your own informed decision.
Legal and criminal checks are part of our process, as are onsite visits, confirmation of doctor qualifications and verification of professional memberships, like the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (ISAPS). We also publish verified patient reviews, high-definition clinic photos and prices–giving you everything you need at your fingertips to weigh your options and make an informed decision.
Neck lifts can be tailor-made to your particular circumstances and so the length of time the procedure takes varies depending on what you have done. A neck lift may involve:
The surgery typically takes around two hours and involves incisions made behind the ears and/or under the chin so that the neck muscles and tissues can be accessed, manipulated and tightened. Any excess tissue is removed and the tissue and muscles stitched into place and the incisions closed.
You will have bandages around the neck after the surgery and drainage tubes to remove fluid away from the incision sites may be inserted. You will feel sore and tender and bruising and swelling may become apparent in a couple of days. This will begin to subside after a week.
Other considerations to take note of are:
The average cost of a neck lift in Johor Bahru is AUD $4,200 (NZ $4,500; UK £2,600; EURO €2,900; US $3,200; CAN $4,200). This is compared to AUD $14,000 (NZ $15,000; UK £8,700; EURO €9,700; US $10,600; CAN $14,000) in Australia.
