Is a Nose Job for Me?

As the nose is the most prominent feature on your face, a simple change in shape can alter the look of the entire face and give you a confidence boost as well. A rhinoplasty or nose reshaping is one of the most popular cosmetic procedures globally; hundreds of thousands of people have this surgery every year.

Some of the variations of rhinoplasty used for different reasons are:

  • Bump reduction: where a prominent bump in the nose needs cartilage or bone reshaping.
  • Augmentation or reduction: a flat nose can be augmented with the use of implants. Similarly, a large nose can be reshaped and reduced.
  • Asian rhinoplasty: those from East and Southeast Asia may have flat noses that they want reshaped to look more aquiline. This surgery reshapes the tip and bridge of the nose.
  • African American rhinoplasty: some African Americans perceive their nose to be too big or not shaped in proportion to their face; this rhinoplasty is designed to address such concerns.
  • Septoplasty: a deviated septum can cause sleeping and snoring problems and a septoplasty can cure this. A deviated septum rhinoplasty can be performed alone or combined with other rhinoplasty procedures.

A rhinoplasty procedure may be considered major or minor surgery, depending on the way your nose looks and your desired results.

Why Consider Rhinoplasty in Puerto Vallarta?

Nose jobs in Puerto Vallarta have become popular with American and other international patients for a number of reasons; the main motivation, not surprisingly, is cost–with prices here starting at just $2,000.

PV is also a great place for a vacation so you can combine surgery with a well-earned break in the sun. Make the most of your time by visiting the numerous beaches, waterfronts, gardens, landmarks and monuments. You can also explore museums or take in the local culture, buy local paintings, jewelry or clothes or even get a pair of custom made shoes. You have a vast choice of cuisines and dining destinations ranging from fine restaurants to casual cafes to hawker stalls at different price points.

Additionally, PV is easily accessible from most regions in the U.S. and Canada via regular flights.

Why Can’t I Book on My Own?

Rhinoplasty is meant to enhance your appearance; as such, you should do everything you can to minimize the risk and maximize the quality (and your own satisfaction) of the results. If you book on your own, you run the risk of having a botched surgery leading to expensive revision surgery at a later stage. If you check out rhinoplasty forums, you will come across many such instances.

How Long Does Rhinoplasty Surgery Take and What Is the Downtime?

Rhinoplasty surgery is individually tailored and can take between one-and-a-half to three hours, depending on the work involved. If you require a graft transplant for any kind of nose augmentation procedure then you will need to stay at least one night in the hospital, otherwise you can return to your place of stay after a few hours.

Your nose will be tightly packed after surgery and you will need to take antibiotics and painkillers. You will have to take care to sleep elevated, not move your face much and take soft foods for a few days. You will experience some bruising and swelling, which will take a few days to subside. You can expect to be off work for a week to ten days. Full recovery will take around six weeks.

How Much Can I Save on Rhinoplasty in PV Compared to the US?

In Puerto Vallarta, you can expect to pay between $2,000 to $3,500 for rhinoplasty.

The same procedure in the U.S. and Canada can cost between US$ 5,000 and US$ 15,000, which means you can save well over 50% by having the procedure carried out in PV. [Please note: these prices are approximate estimates based on international data, calculated at the time of writing. You can check the clinics pages on our site to obtain the latest, most accurate pricing.]
