How Long Does the Procedure Take?

What About the Recovery After a Nose Job?

Immediately after surgery, your nose will be filled with gauze, and you will be bandaged. You may have a splint to keep the nose as straight as possible until your bones have set. You will experience discomfort for a few days, especially once the swelling and bruising develop, but pain medication and cold presses will help with the symptoms.

The surgical dressings will be removed between four and seven days and splints and bandages between seven and ten days. Some people feel able to return to work after two weeks, but it may take a little longer before you feel up to your normal routine. Your doctor will ask you to take things slowly, and while light exercise is permitted after three weeks, you should avoid strenuous exercise for at least six weeks.
