The Ultimate Guide to facelift in Greater Seoul Area

If the cost of a Facelift at home is too much then you could think about getting a Facelift in Seoul where you’ll save at least 60%.

Most people don’t realize that Seoul is one of the world’s plastic surgery capitals, with more of its residents going under the surgeon’s knife than anywhere else, which is good news as surely that means there is a considerable amount of surgical skill and expertise at-the-ready in Seoul?

Why should I get a facelift in Seoul?

There may well be a lot of expertise and Seoul’s surgeons are just as highly-qualified and trained as any cosmetic surgeon back home. These days medical training is very similar everywhere, and it isn’t out-of-the-ordinary for doctors to undertake part of their training overseas, which is why you’ll find so many surgeons in other countries are also members of American societies, such as the American Board of Surgery.

It’s always worth doing your own research before you book anywhere. Find out what you can about your particular procedure and any prospective surgeons. Don’t be afraid to ask questions; seek out former patient testimonials and, of course, check out their credentials. Medical Departures’ runs its own checks and you can find qualifications, professional memberships and real patient reviews alongside our listings, giving you a head start on your own research.

Seoul is a vibrant, contemporary city. It has all the facilities and services you need – at whatever time of the day or night. You may not be up to sightseeing after surgery but there’s plenty to see and do before your facelift procedure, and afterwards you can relax in top-quality hotels with room service at your beck and call.

You probably won’t feel out-of-place here. It’s not unusual to see bandaged faces when you’re out and about as plastic surgery is considered the norm – everybody’s doing it!

How long does a facelift take and what’s involved?

This really depends on the extent of your facelift. It could be as little as 2 hours, or up to 8.

Your surgeon will begin the procedure with incisions to the hairline at the temple, as well as above and in front of the ear. The skin is gently lifted, and the underlying muscles and tissues tightened. Excess fat and skin may be removed and the remaining skin stitched in place. This process continues down under the earlobe and behind the ear. When finished a dressing will be applied to protect the areas where the incisions were made.

What is the recovery time for a facelift?

For a full facelift it may take several weeks before you feel well enough to go back to work, whereas it may be only a week for a mini-lift.

Your face will feel tight, bruised and sore for the first few days after the procedure. You will be advised not to bend or lift for a few weeks, and you will probably find it much more comfortable to sleep propped up on pillows.

You will gradually feel better over the coming weeks, but should avoid vigorous activity and strenuous exercise for around 6 weeks.
