Body Lifts in South Korea are a plastic surgery option if you’ve lost a lot of weight, leaving folds of ugly, loose and drooping skin. If you’re in this position, having done the hard work of slimming down, the next step is to get rid of this excess skin and reveal the new you that’s been hidden away.
South Korea offers a lot of options for medical tourists looking for affordable cosmetic surgery. There are good quality-clinics and surgeons throughout the country, in the capital Seoul, and many other tourist spots, so you can recuperate on holiday for a while afterwards.
In South Korea, plastic and cosmetic surgery is hugely popular with estimates of between one-fifth and one-third of the population having undergone the surgeon’s knife – so if you’re having surgery yourself, you should feel right at home!
As you would expect with so much of the population indulging in a little nip and tuck, there are a great many hospitals and clinics to choose from, as well as experienced surgeons who have performed hundreds, if not thousands, of procedures.
Healthcare services rank highly in terms of good-quality and state-of-the-art technology, and there are a good number of Joint Commission International accredited facilities around the country – JCI accreditation being the gold standard in demonstrating excellent healthcare standards and exceptional patient safety.
With any surgery, there is always a risk, and we always advise you to take precautions by making sure you choose a surgeon and clinic with verifiable credentials. If you are traveling so far away it’s not always easy to do and even searching online can be problematical as you don’t always know the information you find is reliable.
Booking through Medical Departures gives you some peace of mind. We do onsite visits to our clinics to make sure we would be happy to have surgery there ourselves. We also do our due diligence and look for any legal or criminal records, as well as verifying doctor’s certifications and professional memberships. These are published on our website, with real patient testimonials and other information, such as clinic photos and virtual tours. All is freely available, making your search much easier.
There are a number of different procedures you can have that make up a body lift procedure, depending on what you want to achieve. Surgery can be for toning up the whole body, and may involve the tummy, legs, thighs, buttocks, arms, chest, breasts and back. You can also have a lower body lift to tone tummy, buttocks and thighs.
The typical time spent in theatre is around 5 hours, but it may be longer, or shorter, depending on the exact procedures you have done.
As you may gather, the body lift is major surgery as it is a number of different procedures all performed at the same time. You will feel uncomfortable during recovery, but will be given pain medication to help. You will be encouraged to get up and about as soon as possible, although you may find it difficult, but it does help to ease the swelling, and speed up your recovery.
It may take a few weeks before the stiffness and tenderness have subsided significantly. If you work, it is likely to be around 4 weeks’ before you will feel up to going back, and some 6-8 weeks before you start to feel completely better.
You can save around 50% on the cost of body lift surgery in South Korea compared to Australia or New Zealand.
