Get rid of a tired, sad or grumpy-looking expression with an Eye Brow Lift in Thailand.
Gravity eventually takes its toll on all areas of our bodies, including our foreheads, eye brows and upper eyelids, causing our brows to take on a more horizontal, flatter appearance. A brow or forehead lift, as this surgery is also known, can reverse this by effectively removing the deep creases and wrinkles caused by our facial expressions, as well as lifting the brow to give a younger-looking, more arched appearance.
Thailand is well-known for the quality of its healthcare facilities, with world-class surgeons and ISO-certified clinics, and a fair share of Joint Commission International accredited hospitals.
Although medical tourism has been a feature or centuries of many countries who have shared borders with another that has cheaper or better facilities (for example United States and Mexico; or Austria and Hungary), Thailand’s move into medical tourism has started comparatively late. In fact, it was as a result of the Asian Financial crisis in the 1990s that medical tourism became a survival strategy.
Hospitals have received heavy investment, and are equipped with the latest technology, from pharmacy robots that dish out medication in pre-made packs to reduce human error, to revolutionary Novalis shaped beam surgery used in cancer treatment to a new, less invasive form of open heart surgery known as OPCAB. Entire wings of hospitals are dedicated to sports injuries, where Australian sports stars especially seek regular treatment. Medical staff are well-trained and qualified and have the necessary skills and expertise to deliver care on a par to any you would receive at home.
And, of course, the prices are so much less, not because inferior equipment or technology, materials or drugs are used, but because labor costs are less. Doctors in Thailand earn only a third of the salary Australian doctors do, and nurses only a quarter of their Australian counterparts.
You can get exceptionally high-quality care in Thailand, but you also have to choose a surgeon wisely. There are many, many reliable medical staff here, but so too, like anywhere else in the world, are charlatans. Don’t be caught out. Book quality checked surgeon via someone you trust.
Medical Departures performs criminal and legal checks on our doctors, and verifies qualifications, experience and professional affiliations to ensure you can rely on the expertise of our doctors. It is nerve-wracking enough having surgery, but doubly so if you are unsure of your surgeons credentials.
What is the procedure for Eye Brow Lift in Thailand and the recovery time?
The Endoscopic Brow Life uses a long thin tube (endoscope) with a camera and light to made small incisions in the scalp through which the surgeon works on the forehead.
The Open Brow Life makes a long incision in the hairline above the forehead, or in one of the creases, where the excess fat and skin is removed and the remaining skin pulled taut and sutured.
The Limited Incision is a combination of both procedures, which is good for crow’s feet and the scars are hidden in the temporal hairline, but it isn’t much use for problems in the center of the brow.
In Thailand the cost of an eye brow lift is around AUD $3,000 compared to AUD $6,500 in Australia.
