A body lift is usually a combination of procedures used to remove loose, sagging skin that has lost elasticity. This may have been caused by one or a number of factors, including pregnancy, massive or fluctuating weight loss, sun damage and even genetics.

The procedure is generally suitable for sagging skin in these areas: the abdomen (including the sides and lower back), thigh, groin and buttocks. The treatment helps to improve cellulite and dimpled skin, but is not suitable for removing fat, where liposuction is the preferred option. Many people have a combination of both.
