Is Breast Augmentation for Me?

Also called augmentation mammoplasty (or informally, a “boob job”), this surgery increases the size of the breasts, changes their shape and makes them fuller, all at the same time.

Many women undergo breast augmentation if they are unhappy with the shape and size of their breasts after weight loss, pregnancy and mastectomy for medical purposes. Since breast size is often linked to feelings of self-worth and sexual well-being, a boost in cup size can also boost your confidence and self-esteem.

Why Should I Consider Breast Augmentation in Pattaya?

Pattaya is a great holiday spot famous for its beaches, malls huge resorts—and rather infamous for its nightlife. However, this Thai seaside city has begun to shed its seedier image in recent years thanks to an influx of upscale restaurants, upscale cocktail bars and fun, family-friendly activities, such as waterparks.

If you plan to visit for medical treatment, you can still enjoy a holiday before or after your surgery in Pattaya. This does depend on the nature of your treatment; with a breast augmentation, you will need to take things easy following your surgery before flying home.

Why Shouldn’t I Book My Treatment Elsewhere?

It’s of paramount importance that you choose an experienced surgeon and reputable clinic/hospital for your breast implant surgery—and the good news is the Pattaya now boasts dozens of high-quality medical facilities that are geared towards treating foreign patients. The surgeons we have partnered with here are well qualified and experienced, adhering to international protocols on hygiene and safety and likely to be members or have affiliates with international professional organizations.

What Is the Time Frame Involved for Breast Augmentation Surgery and How Long Is the Recovery Time?

Breast augmentation is normally carried out using implants to increase the size. These are two main kinds:

  • Saline: these are filled with saline solution inside an elastomer silicone shell making them safe.

  • Silicone: instead of saline, these are filled with a viscous silicone gel.

After a consultation, your surgeon will make incisions in a predetermined place where they are likely to be less visible. Implants are inserted into the pockets and the incisions closed back up. The implants may be placed in either submuscular or subglandular pockets. After the anesthesia wears off, you will be given painkillers and adequate time to rest in the facility before heading back to your hotel. The surgery normally takes two to three hours.

Another less common procedure involves the transfer of fat which is taken from one part of the body (such as the thighs or buttocks). After being cleansed and processed, the fat is then injected into the breasts to increase size, normally by only one cup size.

Recovery time will vary from three to six weeks, depending on the type of surgery and your own health. However, you should be able to return to work in two weeks. You may need to wear special surgical bras for some time after the bandages are off. Consult with your surgeon as to when you are able to fly back home.
