The Malaysia Healthcare Travel Council (MHTC) was established back in 2008 to work with medical providers in promoting global awareness of the first-class healthcare the country offers. The government is keen to see Malaysia excel in terms of global healthcare infrastructure and travel and to be a go-to destination for medical tourism as are its neighbors to the north and south (Thailand and Singapore). With new incentives introduced to make the whole process easier, Malaysia is preparing to welcome more than one million medical tourists every year going forward.
Cost is one of the primary reasons that international patients think about coming to Malaysia–medical fees are among the lowest in the region with no difference in prices for locals or internationals.
The best hospitals and clinics in Malaysia are contemporary and equipped with the latest technological advances, offering exceptionally high quality that meets or exceeds international healthcare standards. Medical staff is well qualified and trained, many of whom have received their medical education and certifications overseas in Western countries, such as the US, UK and Australia.
Malaysia is also a good choice for a holiday. Johor Bahru has extensive facilities and plenty for tourists to do, including bargain shopping, dining and entertainment. Johor has extensive connections to the rest of the country–and it’s only a five-minute train journey away to Singapore’s Woodlands; thirty minutes to downtown Singapore.

There are a number of different techniques your surgeon can use to increase the size of your breasts. Most people opt for implants–either saline or silicone, but if you are only going up a size you may want to consider the autologous fat transfer technique, where fat from another part of your body is removed by liposuction and reinjected into your breasts. All of these options will be discussed between you and your surgeon beforehand.
The surgery is usually carried out under a general anesthetic. First, incisions are made either under the armpit, under the breast or around the nipple. A pocket is created inside the breast where the implant is placed. Once your surgeon is happy with the position the wounds will be stitched closed.
Your chest will be bandaged after surgery, and sometimes you may have wound drains to remove fluid from the incision site. These are usually removed before you are discharged home.
Naturally, you will feel sore and tender afterward, and this will ease over the coming weeks. You should invest in a good supportive bra during this period of recovery. You will be advised to restrict strenuous activity to give your body time to heal. You can probably return to your everyday activities after a week. You should avoid straining in the workplace, contact sports and vigorous exercise for at least six weeks.
