This beautiful country in southeast Asia is an attractive destination for tourists – and especially English-speaking Westerners as the language is spoken here by most people. Malaysia is safe, friendly and is one of the top ranking destinations in Asia for medical tourists.
The Malaysia Healthcare Travel Council (MHTC) was established in 2008 to work with medical providers in promoting global awareness of the first-class healthcare the country offers. The government is keen that Malaysia is a success in terms of global healthcare travel, and to be a go-to destination for medical travel, in the same way that Thailand is.
With new incentives being introduced to make the whole process easier, including the e-visa, due in 2016, and the outstanding quality of its facilities, Malaysia is preparing for more medical tourists to be visiting year on year.
The cost is one of the primary reasons that international patients think about coming to Malaysia – medical fees are among the lowest in the region with no difference in prices for locals or internationals.
However, that isn’t the only reason to travel – Malaysia’s hospitals are contemporary and equipped with the latest technological advances, offering exceptionally high quality that meet or exceed standards in the United States. Medical staff are well qualified and trained, many of whom have opted to have some of their training overseas in Western countries, such as the US, UK and Australia.
As if this wasn’t enough, Malaysia is a fantastic place for a holiday. Johor Bahru has extensive facilities and plenty for tourists to do, including great shopping, dining and entertainment. There are extensive connections to the rest of the country – and it’s only a 5 minute train journey away to Singapore’s Woodlands.
Malaysia is generally a good choice for international patients with many Joint Commission International accredited facilities available, but we always advise you to spend a little time doing your own research. When you book with Medical Departures you can be certain that we’ve already done our due diligence, having checked clinic and doctor credentials before we list them. You can have a look at the information on our website, as well as real patient reviews, clinic photos and prices, enabling you to get a good idea of the services offered, and whether they are suitable for you.
There are a number of different techniques your surgeon can use to increase the size of your breasts. Most people go for implants – either saline or silicone, but if you have small breasts and are only going up a size you may want to consider the autologous fat transfer technique, where fat from another part of your body is removed by liposuction and reinjected into your breasts.
All the options will be discussed between you and your surgeon beforehand.
The surgery will is usually carried out under a general anesthetic. Firstly, incisions are made either under the armpit, under the breast or around the nipple. A pocket is created inside the breast where the implant is placed. Once your surgeon is happy with the position the wounds will be stitched closed.
Your chest will be bandaged after surgery, and sometimes you may have wound drains to remove fluid from the incision site. These are usually removed before you are discharged home.
Naturally, you will feel sort and tender afterwards, but this will ease over the coming weeks. You should invest in a good supportive bra during this time. Activities will have to be restricted to give your body time to heal, but you can probably return to your everyday activities after a week (providing there is nothing too strenuous). You should avoid contact sports and vigorous exercise for 6 weeks.
Prices for breast enlargements in Johor Bahru you can usually save around 50% compared to prices at home.
