How Can Facial Liposuction Help?

Facial liposuction is a viable way of taking years off your face without needing to have a facelift. For many of us, we just have one or two problem areas that we need to deal with, and this could be the solution for you.

It isn’t suitable for everyone though: liposuction does not remove excess skin – so your skin will have to be supple and have enough elasticity in it to keep its shape once the fat has been removed, otherwise it will hang loosely and even look worse.

The cost is one of the major reasons why people look to Cancun for their plastic surgery and aesthetic procedures – it is considerably less expensive than in the US and Canada, as well as the UK/Eire and Australia/New Zealand.

The facial liposuction procedure only takes about an hour to perform and is fairly straightforward.

After anesthesia has been administered your surgeon will begin by making small incisions in inconspicuous areas so that the cannula (a thin tube) can be inserted. This is used to pump in a liquid to liquefy the fat, and then suck out the dissolved fat.

The wounds are stitched neatly closed to complete the procedure. Do bear in mind that you will need to spend time at the medical facility beforehand (planning stage) as well as after, giving you time to rest before you head back to your hotel. 

Following your procedure, do note the following:

• Pain medication will be prescribed and you will see some swelling and bruising.
• You should feel yourself again a day or two after surgery (although you may not look like it).
• You may want to disguise the bruising and swelling until it starts to subside.
• Sleeping in an upright position may help with the swelling and you should be back to your normal routine between one and two weeks.
• Vigorous exercise should be avoided for six weeks
• You will be advised to keep the scars out of the sun as this will affect the pigmentation. Scars will initially be pink but will fade to white in time and be barely noticeable.

The cost for facial liposuction in Cancun is only around US $1,500 (CAN $1,900; EURO €1,300; UK £1,100; AUS $1,900). This is compared to the United States where it’s around $6,000 (CAN $7,700; EURO €5,400; UK £4,500; AUS $7,800).
