Get rid of jowls, wattle neck and other unwanted fat with facial liposuction. In Cancun you can arrange your vacation and book in to have the procedure while you’re away. Cancun’s the perfect destination for a holiday, and how great will it be to return home looking healthier and younger?
Facial liposuction is a viable way of taking years off your face without needing to have a facelift. For many of us, we just have one or two problem areas that we need to deal with, and this could be the solution for you. It isn’t suitable for everyone though. Liposuction does not remove excess skin – so your skin will have to be supple and have enough elasticity in it to keep its shape once the fat has been removed, otherwise it will hang loosely and look worse!
The cost is one of the major reasons why people look to Cancun for their plastic surgery and aesthetic procedures – it is considerably less expensive than in the US and Canada, as well as the UK/Eire and Australia/New Zealand.
Cancun is a hot destination – and we don’t just mean weather-wise. It’s renowned the world-over for holidaymakers, and medical tourism is catching up. Foreign clients have all sorts of surgeries performed here, from extensive mommy makeovers to simpler procedures like facial liposuction. If you want to dip-your-toe into aesthetic surgery without having a big procedure with lots of downtime, then facial liposuction is a good place to start.
The healthcare facilities in Cancun are excellent. New, contemporary clinics and hospitals are equipped with the latest diagnostic and therapeutic technologies and staffed with skilled clinicians. You’ll find many have had some training overseas, particularly in the United States, with US Board registrations and international memberships to organizations such as the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.
However, it’s really important you choose to have any medical or surgical procedure with a surgeon whose credentials are trustworthy. This is where we come in. All Medical Departures listings have already been background-checked and verified by us. This includes legal/criminal records; qualifications and professional memberships. We also visit clinics personally, compile real patient reviews and publish these and high-definition clinic photos on our site, along with prices and other useful information. This gives you everything you need to know at your fingertips, enabling you to make the right decision.
The facial liposuction procedure only takes about an hour to perform and is fairly straightforward. After anesthesia has been administered your surgeon will begin by making small incisions in inconspicuous areas so that the cannula (a thin tube) can be inserted. This is used to pump in a liquid to liquefy the fat, and then suck out the dissolved fat. The wounds are stitched neatly closed.
Most facial liposuction treatments take around an hour. The procedure is fairly straight forward. After giving you an anesthetic, the surgeon will set to work. Small incisions are made in inconspicuous areas – either under the shin, in the angle of the jaw bone, or sometimes inside the bottom lip. A thin tube (cannula) is inserted and a liquid pumped in to liquefy the fat. Sometimes ultrasound is used for this. The liquefied fat is then sucked out (usually using the same tube) and the wounds stitched closed.
Pain medication will be prescribed and you will see some swelling and bruising. You should feel fine a day or two after surgery, although you may not look it! You may need to disguise the bruising and swelling until it starts to look better, but in any case after a week you should be looking more like your old self, but better.
Sleeping in an upright position may help to dissipate the swelling and you should be back to your normal routine between 1 – 2 weeks. Vigorous exercise should be avoided for 6 weeks and you will be advised to keep the scars out of the sun as this will affect the pigmentation. Scars will initially be pink but will fade to white in time and be barely noticeable.
