Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) in Tijuana

The Ultimate Guide to Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) in Tijuana

Last fact-checked: 8 December 2019

Find out why more and more North Americans are heading across the border for Brazilian butt lifts in Tijuana, a popular procedure that involves the transfer of fat to create a larger, more shapely backside.

Popularized by celebs like Kim Kardashian and J-Lo, the Brazilian butt lift can turn the smallest, flattest of bottoms into a voluptuous, curvy derriere – and Tijuana’s close proximity to the United States means North Americans don’t have to travel too far to make savings of around 50%.

Why Should I Have a Brazilian Butt Lift in Tijuana?

The Cost:

This is the most significant reason. You can save thousands of dollars in Tijuana, which means it is much more affordable rather than having the surgery at home.

It’s Accessible:

Tijuana is easy to reach for North Americans – you can drive right over the border, or take a short flight into the city's international airport – or San Diego, which makes it easy for patients from further afield.

Good Facilities:

Tijuana has been receiving medical tourists for a while, and has the healthcare facilities international patients are used to. Its popularity as a tourist destination also means it has the services and amenities you need to make your stay enjoyable, from bars and restaurants to budget-friendly shopping.

The doctors and surgeons we work with in Tijuana are well-qualified and undertake years of medical training that's on a par with the United States. Ongoing education and cross-border training also means that a large portion of Mexican doctors have undertaken some of their training in the US.

Medical Departures Quality-Checks:

What Does the Procedure for a Brazilian Butt Lift Entail?

The procedure uses your own fat (which is extracted from another part of your body) to add volume to your buttocks. The fat is removed by liposuction from the donor site (or sites), which can be the stomach, thighs or back. It is then processed and cleaned before being injected into the buttocks through a number of tiny incisions. After the procedure is complete, the incisions are stitched and allowed to heal.

The butt lift procedure may take several hours, depending on how much fat is removed and re-injected.

What Is the Recovery Time for a Brazilian Butt Lift?

After surgery, your wounds will be dressed and you may be instructed to wear a compression garment, which aids the recovery process by reducing swelling. You will be given painkillers to help with the pain as you will feel tender and uncomfortable, especially in the first few days after surgery.

Lying on your stomach will relieve pressure on your buttocks, and this will be more comfortable than sitting down. It may take up to two weeks before you go back to work, and you may find you will need a pillow to sit on for a while after this.

You should take it easy for at least six weeks, avoiding vigorous exercise, heavy lifting or anything else too demanding. It may take up to six months before you have healed completely.

How Much Can I Save on a Brazilian Butt Lift in Tijuana Compared to the United States and Canada?

You’ll make substantial savings in Tijuana where Brazilian butt lifts are around $4,000 (or less), as opposed to $8,000 in the United States.
