How Long Do Brow Lifts Take to Carry Out?

The procedure typically takes 1-2 hours to complete, but this varies depending on the technique your surgeon uses. For instance:

  • Endoscopic Brow Lift: Several small incisions are made in the scalp through which an endoscope (a long thin tube with a camera and light) is inserted, allowing the surgeon to work on the internal structures in the forehead.

  • Open Brow Lift: Excess fat and skin are removed through a long incision in the hairline, or one of the creases in the forehead and the remaining skin tightened and stitched.

  • Limited Incision: A good technique for crow’s feet, although it doesn’t address problems in the center of the brow. It is a combination of both procedures the above procedure with scars hidden in the temporal hairline.

What Is the Recovery Period for an Eyebrow Lift?

Numbness, swelling and bruising should begin to subside in around five days and stitches are typically removed in a week. You will be advised to sleep in an elevated position for a week, but showering, bathing and hair-washing can be resumed the day after surgery, although care must be taken to use the cool setting on a hair dryer.

Light activity is encouraged the day after surgery and you should be able to return to work in a week. You should resume full everyday activities within three weeks and gentle strenuous activity after a month.

In terms of how long you'll need to stay in Bangkok following surgery, it’s always worth talking with your chosen surgeon before booking flights.
