Dr. Saul Ocampo Gonzalez

Based in Guadalajara, Mexico, Dr Saúl Ocampo is a weight-loss specialist and renowned bariatric surgeon with almost 40 years of experience. He specializes in the metabolic disease and the surgical treatment of obesity and operates in various hospitals across the city.

A graduate of School of Medicine, University of Guadalajara in 1976; Dr Ocampo progressed to the Hospital of Specialities IMSS CMO where he spent four years. He specialized in General Surgery and was certified by the Mexican Council of General Surgery in 1983.

He holds a postgraduate diploma in Digestive Surgery and Clinical Nutrition and is the renowned and respected co-author of six books on digestive surgery all published by the Mexican Association of Surgery, and has published over 20 academic research papers on the same subject. In 2006, one such paper won first place in research papers presented at Congress of the Mexican Association of General Surgery.
