Why Should I Consider Breast Implants?

Breast augmentation, clinically known as augmentation "mammoplasty" or ordinarily a “boob job”, refers to the process of increasing or restoring the breast volume or changing their shape.

Depending on the type of friends you have, you might be wondering whether breast augmentation in Chiang Mai is really worth the effort; not to mention all you probably have heard about the prices. Most people seek breast augmentation procedures because they are self-conscious about having a naturally small bust, have suffered from a disease such as cancer, or are experiencing some slight sagging often as a result of weight loss, pregnancy or aging.

For breast drooping, a breast lift is advised as a prior procedure to breast augmentation.

With breast augmentation, your breasts will become fuller and more projected; you get a boost in figure balance; and you can improve your self-confidence and image. If that sounds like something you have always fancied, then take a look at our verified breast augmentation in Chiang Mai and book through Medical Departures.

How Long Does the Breast Augmentation Procedure Take and What Is the Recovery Time?

The two most popular, clinically-approved ways to increase breast size are using saline implants and using silicone implants

Saline implants involve filling saline water into silicone shells while silicone implants involve filling plastic gel in silicone shells. The surgeon will make tiny incisions around the nipples, under the arms or under the breasts; this depends on your preference or their advice based on your body type. The implants are inserted and positioned into a pocket—usually below or above the chest muscle. After that, the surgeon will close the incisions using surgical tape or sutures.

Normally, the surgery should take approximately one or two hours and the recovery period may differ from patient to patient. However, the average time is always four to six weeks. During that time, your breasts are covered using a gauze. In some instances, drainage tubes are fitted but removed a few days after the surgery. Your doctor may also advise you to use a surgical bra during the healing period as well as recommend medication to help ease the discomfort and to speed the healing process.

You might experience some swelling around the areas of surgery for several days but with time, both the swelling and the scars will fade. Also, for a successful recovery, you will have to take it easy on your side, avoiding heavy tasks like going to the gym.
