Is a Neck Lift for Me?

If you have sagging skin on your neck, which can present itself in the form of a double chin, jowls and fat deposits, then a neck lift is the only way of getting rid of it. Sometimes, this lift may be combined with liposuction if you have excess fat deposits. Overall, a neck lift will give you a tighter, younger-looking appearance.

Medically called lower rhytidectomy, this procedure can be carried out alone if your neck is the only part that needs to be treated; or it can be combined with other plastic surgery, such as a whole facelift, just a brow lift or other minimally invasive cosmetic procedures that combat facial wrinkles. These can include the use of Botox® and dermal fillers.

Why Consider a Neck Lift in Bali?

A recent MTA Medical Tourism Patient Survey found that costs (85%) together with state-of-the-art technology (83%) were the most important factors persuading medical tourists to travel abroad for treatment. Bali satisfies both of these criteria, with a range of low-cost medical treatments widely available, as well as skilled surgeons carrying out their work at modern clinics and hospitals across the island that deploy the latest technology and devices.

As its medical tourism industry grows and continuously improves, Bali is able to utilize the current infrastructure first developed for holidaymakers to ensure medical tourists feel relaxed, comfortable and above-all secure in their environment. This includes a large international airport, a huge range of accommodation options and all the amenities you’d need for a comfortable, hassle-free stay.

The healthcare facilities we have partnered with in Bali are exceptionally high-quality, with brand-new, fully-equipped centers of excellence offering a whole range of medical and surgical options to both local and international clientele.

Patients seeking a holiday prior to their surgery can find plenty of locations to suit whether they are culture-vulture, beach bunny or go-getter retreats, heavenly spas, safari lodge’s, themed bars and exquisite restaurants make sure that Bali will be a memorable destination.

How Long Does a Neck Lift Take and What Is the Approximate Recovery Period?

The neck lift can be performed using an open incision method or a limited one, which results in faster recovery. It is worth noting that:

  • With the open method, the doctor is generally able to do a lot more—including liposuction, removing excess skin and even tightening the muscles if required.

  • With limited incisions, the doctor is limited in terms of the work he or she can do so this option may only be suitable if you do not require too much work on your neck.

  • A neck lift (either method) is usually carried out under general anesthesia and requires an overnight stay in the hospital.

You will need painkillers and antibiotics after the surgery and will have drains and bandages. You may have significant discomfort and your neck will feel much tighter. You will be advised to keep your head elevated as far as possible and also to sleep that way.

It will take at least two weeks for you to recover and you can estimate that as your downtime. Final results can take a few months to be fully apparent.

What Is the Cost of a Neck Lift in Bali?

In the U.S., neck lift surgery costs an average of US$10,873 (CAD14,537, £8,782, €9,841, AUD14,110, NZD14,805). In Bali, you can expect to pay a fraction of this price. For instance, prices at BIMC, one of our partner hospitals here, start at just under $4,000.

[Please note: these prices are approximate estimates based on international data, calculated at the time of writing. You can check the clinics pages on our site to obtain the latest, most accurate pricing.]
