Dr. Alfaro graduated from the University of Costa Rica Medical School and completed his residency in Plastic Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Colorado Medical Center in Denver. He serves on the Academic Council at the Autonomous University of Central America (UACA) and is a former professor at the University of Costa Rica Medical School.
Dr. Alfaro has had a distinguished career, holding memberships in several professional organizations both domestically and internationally, including the International Plastic Surgery Society. He is also a founder of Hospital CIMA in San Jose, which is accredited by the Joint Commission International (JCI), the gold standard in global healthcare.
