When you arrive for your Botox treatment, you’ll first have a consultation with the doctor. You’ll talk about your expectations and listen to the doctor’s suggestions in terms of how to proceed. Usually, the injections happen during that same appointment, after the consultation. The Botox will be prepared, and the areas to be treated will be cleansed. Anesthesia is generally not used. Even though several injections are performed, the needle is very small, and pain is minimal.
Application techniques are generally the same, but may vary in dosage, and how long the effects last. Three common brands are:
