“Long Recovery Period”

The great thing about modern fertility treatments is that they are quick, safe, and highly effective. Hence, don’t believe if you read that you have to stay in hospital for a long time when going through IVF.

The treatment is a series of procedures that are usually carried out as an out-patient. It doesn’t involve a long-stay in hospital, but you will need to be around for several weeks for each stage of the treatment. But, besides a few precautions, you don’t need to take any drastic measures.

“IVF is Risky”

Generally, people believe that babies conceived through fertility treatments are at a higher risk of birth defects. The numbers clearly show this is not the case. The risk of deformities and birth defects in a spontaneous birth is 1 in 15 babies, while the corresponding ratio for IVF is 1 in 12 babies. The difference is negligible and the risk of congenital malformations low.

In comparison, the average price for IVF in Thailand is AUD $8,867 (NZD $9,563). In fact, the price remains low even at the leading clinics, including the Piyavate International Hospital and Phyaithai 2 Hospital, where you can get the procedure for AUD $9,219 (NZD $9,943).
