The Ultimate Guide to Liposuction in South Korea

Top Clinics in South Korea

Introduction

Last fact-checked: 20 December 2020

With liposuction in South Korea, you can melt away stubborn fat and get that more toned look you want—all while saving money on this popular procedure.

Liposuction can be used on many areas of the body, including the tummy, butt, hips, thighs, arms, back, and face; with Medical Departures, you can find reliable clinics at prices that are a fraction of the cost at home.

Why Should I Have Liposuction in South Korea?

Surprisingly, South Korea isn’t on the tourist map for Westerners as are some other Asian countries–at least not yet. But if you generally like visiting Asian countries, then it should be on your list. The people are warm; the cities are modern and exciting–especially Seoul–along with stunning countryside and coastlines to explore, and recuperate.

Medical tourism is big here – so much so that upon arrival at Incheon International Airport, you'll encounter a medical tourist office, and you can’t miss the countless advertisements for beauty and plastic surgery clinics.

Koreans think nothing of improving their face and bodies; from graduating school girls to retirees, just one indication that surgeons in this part of the world are highly skilled and experienced.

Liposuction is a relatively straightforward procedure in comparison to other surgical techniques, with relatively minimal downtime. However, this shouldn’t stop you from conducting your own due diligence. With so many clinics to choose from at low prices, you want to make the right choice in your clinic and doctor, which is why Medical Departures does its own background checks.

We list professional memberships and qualifications on our site; and provide real patient reviews and high-definition clinic photos, as well as lots of other useful information, including prices. We also visit clinics personally and only list those on our site that we would be happy to visit ourselves.

What Is the Recovery Time for Liposuction?

You may have to wear a compression garment after the procedure and you will more than likely feel a little sore. Fluid may lead from the incision area for a couple of days and there may be bruising and swelling which reaches its peak after about a week. You will, of course, need to take things easy and you will feel stiff, but once the swelling and bruising start to subside, you will feel increasingly better and more mobile, gradually being able to resume your normal activities.

Strenuous exercise and heavy lifting should be avoided for six weeks, and you should plan to spend a few days after your surgery in South Korea confined mostly to your hotel (rather than strenuous activities or sightseeing).

How Much Can I Save on Liposuction in South Korea Compared to Australia and New Zealand?

The average cost of liposuction in South Korea is around 50% less than it is in Australia, as an example.

🇬🇧 Guy here. It has only been 24 hours since I had Nano LASIK here and to say I am impressed is an understatement. The staff here are ninjas, good English spoken and at every stage I was given honest medical advice, the equipment they have is top of the range, and the Eye Hospital is brand new. I will update my review in the coming weeks but at the moment in less than 24 hours I have 20/20 in one eye and above 20/20 in the second. Amazing and no pain. Special shout out to Win, who is an incredible liaison with very good knowledge or all procedures and is kind and professional, Patthanan for her guidance, professionalism and of course Dr Vivat who has expert knowledge and made me feel safe and at ease, this Dr is awesome. Every single staff member was warm and kind from the reception to cleaners and security. I can’t thank these guys enough. And I have never written a review this long before lol.

The staff were very courteous. Slight language barrier with some staff, but was never an issue. I was able to still communicate my needs without any problems.
