It's only natural to have questions about what to expect from an eyebrow procedure. The surgery itself is performed under general anesthesia. Prior to the procedure, you will meet with your surgeon to discuss your goals. Once the surgery is underway, your doctor will use one of several techniques, based on your goals. The surgeon will make several small incisions along the hairline. An endoscope, which is a tube equipped with a camera, may be used to guide the surgeon. If you prefer for the height of your hairline to be remain unchanged, an incision may be made in the anterior hairline.

Following your procedure, you should expect your forehead to be taped for support and to prevent swelling and bruising. Your doctor may also have inserted thin tubes to drain fluid. The tube will be removed within a few days after your procedure. If stitches were used to close the incision, they will be removed within a week following your surgery. In some instances, it may be necessary for the doctor to use special staples or screw to secure your new brow. If used, the screws will be removed within two weeks.

Bruising and swelling is common following an eyebrow lift. You may also notice bruising and swelling in your cheeks and around your eyes. Any discoloration or swelling should disappear within about one week.
