Facial wrinkles may be the bane of all our lives (at least when we hit our mid-thirties or forties), and while, at one time not too long ago, the facelift was pretty-much the only option, now we have all sorts of surgical and non-surgical treatments to choose from.

Whether you want surgery or one of the non-surgical procedures for your facial wrinkles, in Mexico you’ll certainly make some huge savings.

The country is home to a growing number of world-class facilities located in attractive vacation destinations like Playa del Carmen, Puerto Vallarta and Cancun. We have also partnered with cosmetic surgeons conveniently located near the US-Mexico border in cities like Guadalajara, Mexicali and Tijuana.

What Treatment Options Are Available for Facial Wrinkles in Mexico?

All the same brand-name treatments, such as Botox®, Restylane®, and Juvederm®, are offered by clinics in Mexico, as well as the different types of cosmetic surgery treatments. Below, we have summarized the variety of different treatments and procedures that you can book directly through our site:

Cosmetic Surgery in Mexico:

The facelift (rhytidectomy) is probably the most drastic option. It improves a number of signs of aging, including sagging, loose skin around

the neck, chin and jowls, as well as creases and/or wrinkles extending from the nose to the mouth and around the eyes. The surgery lifts the facial skin, underlying muscle and tissues to make the face smoother and tighter. It is often done in combination with other procedures (surgical and/or non-surgical as part of a facial rejuvenation procedure.

If a facelift seems like a step too far, there is always a lower facelift which improves the area below the nose, including the neck area, and there are always specific procedures to target smaller areas. These could include:

  • Brow lift, which smoothes wrinkles across the forehead.
  • Eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty), to either the upper, lower, or both eyelids.
  • A neck lift, targeting wattle (turkey) neck and double chins.
  • Facial liposuction can also create a more defined facial appearance, although this is not usually indicated on its own to target wrinkles

Non-surgical treatments in Mexico:

This is one of the growth areas in treating facial wrinkles as beauty and scientific products are combined in a range of ‘cosmeceuticals’.

Most of these work by plumping up or resurfacing the skin to minimize lines and wrinkles. However, care must be taken with these products and procedures that they will target the specific problem you want to minimize. Also just as with any surgery, some of these treatments are permanent, and they carry a small risk.

Injectable treatments: These are some of the quickest procedures you can have done – most in a matter of minutes. Injectable treatments include neurotoxins, like Botox, which freezes the underlying muscles. They are effective for lines produced by facial expressions, such as frown lines, or crow’s feet, but not for lines that do not alter in appearance when you change your expression. Botox is not permanent and to-ups will be required every few months.

The other injectables include dermal fillers, such as Juvederm. Dermal fillers can be used on other lines, plumping up the skin to make it fuller and smoother. They can also be permanent or temporary. Permanent fillers won’t adapt to further changes in your face as you get older and are not as common as the temporary fillers. Fillers can last from three months upwards and will require top-up treatments if you want the effects to last.

Resurfacing facial skin treatments: These treatments are used to improve the texture of your skin by regenerating new skin growth and/or helping product penetration. It is said that only 5% of any product put onto the skin is absorbed, so anything that enables the product to get deeper into the skin should be more effective.

Laser resurfacing/Chemical Peels/Dermabrasion/Dermal Rollering:

  • Laser resurfacing removes the outer layers of skin and stimulates the growth of new collagen (the protein responsible for building skin, bone and soft tissues).
  • Chemical peels remove the damaged outer layers of the skin, revealing smoother, improved skin underneath.
  • Dermabrasion or microdermabrasion takes off the top layer of damaged skin to reveal smoother underneath.
  • Dermal rollering punctures minute holes all over your face with a roller spiked with microfine needles. The needles come in different lengths but the premise behind it works in generally the same way.

🇬🇧 Guy here. It has only been 24 hours since I had Nano LASIK here and to say I am impressed is an understatement. The staff here are ninjas, good English spoken and at every stage I was given honest medical advice, the equipment they have is top of the range, and the Eye Hospital is brand new. I will update my review in the coming weeks but at the moment in less than 24 hours I have 20/20 in one eye and above 20/20 in the second. Amazing and no pain. Special shout out to Win, who is an incredible liaison with very good knowledge or all procedures and is kind and professional, Patthanan for her guidance, professionalism and of course Dr Vivat who has expert knowledge and made me feel safe and at ease, this Dr is awesome. Every single staff member was warm and kind from the reception to cleaners and security. I can’t thank these guys enough. And I have never written a review this long before lol.

The staff were very courteous. Slight language barrier with some staff, but was never an issue. I was able to still communicate my needs without any problems.
